Every Camper
At SummerTech, we believe in personalized learning. In every course, each camper gets individualized instruction that gives them a satisfying challenge and a clear path forward. Your camper’s instructor will work closely with each child so they can have fun and learn at their own pace. Fast learners can jump ahead as much as they need, and campers who take their time will get support along the way. There is no “edutainment” or sponsored content here – just pure computer science courses. Our campers move on to high school, college, and the working world with valuable tech skills.
Choose one of these coding or new media courses each week:
Python
Campers who want to code often start with Python, an easy-to-use and powerful coding language. We believe Python is going to be the fastest way for your child to learn coding concepts. In our Python coding courses, students learn the fundamentals of computer programming. Classes never have more than 3 campers to 1 teacher!
Java
Java powers applications on 3 billion devices across the world, making it a powerful resource for coding campers. Thanks to our Java coding classes, students can use it for the AP Computer Science Exam and their future studies. Classes never have more than 3 campers to 1 teacher!
Animation
Students who need a creative release can enter our 2D animation course. During this camp, your camper will learn how to use Toon Boom Harmony to animate videos and games. You will find Toon Boom Harmony made cartoons all over television and movies. This is the real stuff! Classes never have more than 3 campers to 1 teacher!
3D Modeling
Creative campers who want to get technical can pursue 3D modeling in their camp courses. Our 3D modeling summer courses featuring Blender, teach students how to create 3D models leading to 3D animation, architecture, and more. Classes never have more than 3 campers to 1 teacher!
Gaming
We take our gaming seriously at SummerTech. Our gaming computers can handle it all as we provide game nights, clinics, and tournaments throughout the week. Every night is a LAN party at SummerTech. You will also find great tabletop gaming, console gaming, Magic The Gathering, and more. Discover new games with your new favorite community.
Daily Outdoor Recreation
Every afternoon is outdoor time when we get away from the screens and get some sun and exercise. There are both athletic and non-athletic choices – and lots of them – each afternoon at SummerTech.
Meals Provided
We are fed well at SummerTech, thanks to the excellent food services at Purchase College, SUNY. LUNCH and DINNER are provided for all – overnighters also get BREAKFAST each morning. Your camper will get a real college cafeteria-style experience – all you can eat! Contact us with any food arrangements you might need. We can accommodate you!
Evenings at SummerTech
After a day of learning and playing, we invite ALL-day campers to stay as late as 9 pm to take part in our famous evening events. At the beginning of each week, you will receive an EVENING EVENTS schedule full of tons of choices at each hour or half hour. Join us for gaming events, music events, art events, weird out-of-the-box events, and a special surprise towards the end of the week that keeps getting bigger and bigger, week after week, year after year.
