What makes SummerTech so special? We’re glad you asked.

A week at SummerTech is chock-full of fun activities and learning. From start to finish, you won’t want each day to end. Here’s some more info about camp life, and the activities that make up our program.

Main Class

On each Sunday, you will have your first class of the week. This is our first opportunity to get to know you as a student. We will do our best to make sure you are in the right class with the right teacher and group by Monday morning. Starting Monday, you will have three classes a day of the course you have chosen plus one elective. Each of your main classes will build upon the prior one. All of your work will be saved throughout the day and be ready for you when you get home.

Electives

Your fourth class each day is your elective. On Sunday and Monday, you will learn about the elective options for that week and choose the one that’s right for you. Electives are designed individually by our staff members so they are specialties of the house. They can range from digital to analog, academic, music, art, gaming strategies, or sports-related. All of them have a learning path and there’s always something for everyone.

Outdoor Activities

After class time, there are a variety of social, sports, and other outdoor activities to choose from. This is our time to get away from the screens and get to know each other through group events that fit your style. You see, we know you because all of our counselors once were you. We know exactly the kinds of things you want to do when you’re not on the computer. No sweat, it’s going to be fun.

Gaming & Tournaments

We save most of our gaming for the evenings. Each evening through Thursday, commuters are invited to hang out as late as 9 pm where you’ll find and endless library of your favorite games, gaming tournaments, game clinics, and more. On Sunday you’ll receive an event list so you can plan out your weeknights. Overnighters get even more time in the gaming lab. Honestly, you just need to see it to believe it. We do it right.

Events

Every night at SummerTech we hold awesome events. We’ve had Magic the Gathering brackets, soccer games, movie screenings, game clinics, open mic nights, and much more. There’s always something fun and interesting going on at camp! All events are well-planned, supervised, and included in the SummerTech computer camp experience.

Overnight

At SummerTech, you can choose to either commute to camp or stay overnight for the whole week. Overnighting adds a whole new level to the SummerTech experience, with night events, dorm life, and awesome buffet breakfasts. It’s a part of camp you won’t want to miss.

Dining

With the exception of our Sunday pizza social, all our meals are in the campus cafeteria. The food is traditional, hearty, and college-fair, with kid-friendly options to satisfy even the pickiest eaters. We understand many children have allergies or dietary restrictions, and we have had no problem working with the cafeteria to accommodate special needs.
